POLYLACTIC ACID
PLA is an abbreviation for polylactic acid. This natural component is the main ingredient for our compostable PLA facestock. It is made from highly renewable resources like corn starch, tapioca or sugarcane. Our PLA materials are fully certified according to European compost standards and are safe to use in direct food contact applications. The specific characteristics of PLA make it an environmentally conscious alternative for plastic.

Our compostable PLA material is known for its durability. This characteristic makes it perfect for applications where shelf life is important. The material is oil and grease resistant and can usually also withstand a bit of moist. The glossy surface enables high quality printing.
